South Cumberland state park has some of the most beautiful hiking anywhere if you are ever in the area.
my favorite vacation. beautiful park, tons of trails with amazing waterfalls, fishing access. near a cute little town and Cumberland caverns. there are rivers lakes and falls all around. it is so peaceful and the cabin is wonderful. has a tv and air-conditioning and a full kitchen. my only suggestion would be to add wifi for the cabins, I didn't have any cell service. the cabins have a grill and individual parking. we saw deer from the porch. I LOVE Rock island Tennessee. my favorite place I've visited so far
Stopped in for the Solar Eclipse and was extremely pleased. Tennessee does a fantastic job with their state parks especially considering the lack of entry fees. They even had complimentary solar eclipse glasses for everyone.
We visit Rock Island a couple of times a year.Great Hiking! Also a little extra tid bit,if you are looking for great homemade pies or good food to fill your tummy, there's a conveniece store out side of the park with a diner.It is a must stop for hubby and I.
Great place. Beautiful scenery. Fun activities. But! Buy your firewood early. It's practically impossible to purchase it after general store hours.
Absolutely beautiful. The falls are gorgeous. It's great for going off the path and feeling like a kid again exploring your backyard but instead it's a huge, beautiful expanse of scenery.
