Bone cave is closed to the public for safety.
It's wintertime and cold, but we didn't let it stop us from finally coming out here. We found an old homestead that we weren't expecting to see and an entrance to what I can only assume to be Big Bone Cave. Can't find a whole lot about the cave but apparently there are to known entrances and one is collapsed. I can only assume this is the other or one not documented publicly. Went to the entrance and was surprised at the complete change in temperature. It was 22 degrees when we went and the cave was at least 80 and humid. It would have been nice to know about the homestead here and the one we found later leaving just off the road, but I guess that will just be a trip to the archives. The place was beautiful and peaceful. There were a few bird chirping and we even saw a coyote. Definitely going to go back and explore the area more.
